I choose to lead with kindness, without compromising standards.

Every December, my family holds a simple tradition. Instead of New Year’s resolutions, we choose a single word to anchor the year ahead. One word. One intention. One lens through which we try to show up—personally and professionally.

As far back as 2021, my word was Caring. It challenged me to think deeply about self-care, presence, and the ripple effect our actions have on those around us. That journey reshaped how I lead, how I listen, and how I prioritize what truly matters.

For 2026, my word is Kind.

Kindness is often misunderstood as softness. I see it differently. Kindness is strength with intention. It is the ability to be direct, honest, and decisive—while remaining respectful, human, and fair. It’s holding high standards without losing empathy. It’s making tough calls without losing sight of people.

As a business owner, advisor, and board member, I operate in environments where clarity, accountability, and results matter. But I’ve learned that the best outcomes happen when rigor is paired with kindness—when performance and humanity coexist.

In a world that feels increasingly fast, polarized, and transactional, choosing Kind is a conscious decision to lead with character. To build companies that perform. To grow people who thrive. To leave situations better than I found them.

That’s my commitment for 2026.

Strong. Kind. Uncompromising on values.
